Summer at Eco Wonder Schools is a magical time. The garden is bursting with life β€” tomatoes ripening on the vine, sunflowers stretching toward the sky, and butterflies dancing between the flowers.

Summer Learning in the Garden:

Our summer program takes full advantage of the long, warm days. Children spend most of their time outdoors, immersed in nature-based activities:

  • Water play β€” exploring concepts of volume, flow, and temperature
  • Harvest time β€” picking vegetables and learning where food comes from
  • Bug hunts β€” discovering the incredible diversity of garden insects
  • Sun art β€” using sunlight to create art with natural materials
  • Story time under the trees β€” reading and imagining in the dappled shade

The summer sun teaches patience, as children learn that some things β€” like a watermelon β€” simply take time to grow. And it teaches gratitude, as they taste the first tomato they helped nurture from a tiny seedling.
